Every Knee And Tongue

Good Afternoon & Happy Saturday Everyone!

I’m so glad to be able to sit down today, and get the rust off my fingertips to bring you this message today. The less is more season God has been walking me through may not be over, but I am starting to sense the anointing to write more often than I have throughout the year so far. I believe the Lord has been preparing me for a new season of life, and if all goes according to how I hope it goes I’ll have an announcement to make next week.  For now, however, I’m going to continue obeying the Lord when He leads me to write and not write, and as I always do…trust Him with the results of whatever it is He’s leading me to write about.

Today, I get to write about something that I believe ought to make those of us who already know Jesus shout, and for those of you who don’t really know Him as Lord perhaps it will draw some of you in off the fence.  We all know that Jesus would prefer you to be hot for Him or cold for Him, and that He has little tolerance for those who are lukewarm. So, hopefully some of you will come to the hot side, and as you can see from the picture accompanying this message we’re going to be talking about something that is going to happen as the Bible says to “Every Knee and Every Tongue”.

“For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” – Romans 14:11 (KJV)

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  Unfortunately, it’s going to be too late for many to do it, and actually have Him be Lord and Savior of their lives. Many people are going to be cast away for eternity because they waited too long to bow before Him and make Jesus Christ Lord of their lives. Now, I know that those same people believe that Jesus is some kind of fictitious person who may or may not really exist, and even more that believe that a loving God really wouldn’t send millions of people to hell…but whether or not people believe it doesn’t change the fact that one day God is going to separate the sheep from the goats.  There’s going to be one group of people (the sheep) that will be with Him for all of eternity, and there’s going to be one group that will not be with Him for all of eternity. Whether you believe that or not doesn’t change it from being the truth. The Word of God is true whether we believe it or not…and when Jesus says that every knee will bow to Him and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…then you can take it to the bank that is exactly what is going to happen.

In fact, the Bible says this very thing more than once, and it’s Paul that writes it.  The other place you can find this is in Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV), and it’s almost word for word. The thing is, I don’t know about you, but I pay particular attention to the Bible when it says something like this more than once. When the Holy Spirit has Paul write the same thing twice…it’s a pretty good indication that it’s something that we need ought to take to heart (not that we shouldn’t take the rest of the Word of God to heart, but when He repeats things it’s definitely something He wants us to really get into our hearts), and just so you can see it for yourself that the Bible says this twice…here’s Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV)

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV)

So, as I’ve said many times, I don’t know about anyone else, but I choose to bow my knee to Jesus and confess Him as Lord now because I don’t want to wait until I’m standing before Him to find out the Bible was right about there being a God.  I mean, here’s the realistic truth, and I’ve written this many times, and I’m about to say it once again.

If I’m wrong about believing and living like there’s a God then at least I’ve spent my life trying to treat people the way I want to be treated, and trying to be a better person today then I was before I really committed my life to Him.  If I’m wrong then I haven’t really wasted my life, but I have basically believed in the fairy tale that there’s a God that loves me, and sent His Son to shed His blood for me so that I could have a relationship with Him.  If I’m wrong than at worst I’ve lived talking to and believing in an imaginary friend that desires me to serve Him, and all the messages I’ve written talking about all that He’s done in, with, and through my life is all just a big fairy tale that ends with this being the best and worst that life has to offer.  If I’m wrong about Jesus then I guess I’ll be disappointed when I die and there’s nothing.

If, however, those of you who mock God are wrong then you’ve spent your entire life trying to prove that God doesn’t exist, that He doesn’t really love or care about us, and that there isn’t a place called Heaven or hell.  If those of you who refuse to acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then when you stand before God you’re going to realize that all those jokes you told really weren’t jokes at all, and that God really didn’t find any of them funny.  Not only that, but for you this is also the best life is going to have to offer, but eternity for you is going to be much, much worse than anything you can imagine.

The amazing thing is that if you’re still breathing that means it’s not too late to make today the moment when you bow your knee to a holy God, and make Jesus Christ Lord of your life.  If you’re still here that means God isn’t through with you yet, and that you still have time to do what everyone is going to eventually do anyways.  So, here’s my challenge to you.  Why not give God a chance?  Why not take a moment to have the possibility of being wrong with me, and have your name written in the Lambs Book of Life just in case there really is a God and He really is going to send those who reject Him away.  At least you can have the assurance that you’re not going to have to spend eternity in a place that’s going to be much, much worse than anything we’ve lived through here on earth.

You see, God made it really simple to find yourself on your way to Heaven just like me. He didn’t make it so that you’d have to say some big, long religious sounding prayer, but He did make it so that you’d have to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth here and now that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.  Of course, I have already taken the liberty to find a prayer that you can use as a way to quickly and simply confess Jesus Christ as Lord. It’s really simple to do, and it’s all contained in this picture right here…

If you take the time to say this prayer, won’t you take a moment to write to me to let me know that you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. That way I can connect with you, and try to help you get Bible study materials that will enable you to get started in your walk with God. I would like to be the first to congratulate you on making the decision to call Jesus Christ Lord now, and welcome you to the family of God. When you write if you’ll let me know where you are located I will try to help you find a good, solid Bible believing, teaching, and living church that will help you along your walk with God.  Of course, you’re also welcome to join the Christlike Ministries NWA Family where there are nearly 500 Bible based messages to help you learn, develop, and maintain your walk with God.  It’s no substitute for church, however.  You still need to find yourself a good, solid body of believers, and let them know that you’ve recently made Jesus Lord and Savior and that you’d like help walking out that decision.

For now, I’m going to wrap this up so I can get it proofread and posted.  Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I know some of these tend to be a little long, but I hope you find my messages worth taking the time to read. I hope even more that you allow God to speak to and minister to you through them, and that if you didn’t already know Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you took the time to make Him Lord today.

If you’re blessed by any of the messages I write and you’d like to help Christlike Ministries NWA financially please take a moment to write me as well.  You can write me at either or whether you want to let me know you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord or you’re writing because you’d like to sow into Christlike Ministries NWA to help keep us online and help me to continue to be able to write messages like this as my way to fulfill the Great Commission.

Thank y’all so much for your time, prayers, patience, and support. It’s a joy to be able to bring y’all the Word of God this way.  Until next time, please take a moment to check out Pastor B’s Blog at, and also the main Christlike Ministries NWA Blog at for nearly 500 messages like this one to help you learn more about how to walk out this life, and encourage you to take your place among the body of Christ.
