Message Scripture:  Exodus 3:1-22 (KJV)

“And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.  And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?  Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.” – Exodus 4:10-12 (KJV)

Introduction:

Greetings Everyone!

I hope everyone had as good a week as possible.  I am really excited to talk about today’s message because I did the same thing to God that Moses did when God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.  This is kind of a personal story message for me, and just like God did for Moses…He not only gave me a voice…but He’s walked with me every step of the way.  Everything you see by Christlike Ministries NWA God has walked me through from the first word to the moment I hit the publish button on this message here today.

Hope y’all enjoy it!

Praise & Worship:

Do y’all want a worship song to go along with this message?  Since my visit to Redemption Ministries to see Revivalist Josh Radford I’ve had this song in my heart, and it’s a really simple one.  It’s simply called “Do It Lord”, and the best version of the song I’ve found is this one by Travis Cottrell.  I hope you’ll enjoy it…and that it will be a good accompany track for this message:

The Bad Speaker:

I can still remember looking at a bunch of Christian blogs, reading things like the Our Daily Bread Devotional, remembering that a pastor of mine prophetically said I’d use my ability to write to glorify God, and then saying:  “But my writing doesn’t look anything like these. Have you seen the stuff I’ve written?  Grammar errors, spelling errors, and there’s not much of a format or layout to it.  Are You sure this is what You want me to do?”

There were many arguments I remember having with God just like Moses did when God called Him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.  I felt I needed to remind Him that I was a multi-time convicted felon, that I hadn’t lived anything close to the kind of life that I thought would qualify me to serve Him, and that’s when God showed me for the first time a picture that has made it’s way around the internet and Facebook.  You’ve probably seen it as often as I have, but just in case you haven’t.  Here it is…

I remember God speaking to me that He didn’t call me to write like the people at RBC Ministries or Charles Stanley and In Touch Ministries or anyone else.  He simply said to me at one point:  “I didn’t call you to write like anyone else.  I called you to write like you.”.  You know, the funny thing is there is an honesty and relate ability to I write because I don’t try to pretend or sound like I am this all holy, spotless, blameless person…and (as I’ve written over the last three plus years) my messages are far better and easier reads today then they were in the beginning.  God has literally taught and showed me everything from the layout, the format, and even the theme that I use for the Christlike Ministries NWA Blog and now the Pastor B’s Blog.

Everything I’ve done with the ministry from the Facebook Fan Page (www.Facebook.com/ChristlikeMinistriesNWA), to the addition of the Christlike Ministries NWA Family Facebook Group (www.facebook.com/groups/christlikeministriesnwa), and extending myself to a few other Facebook Groups like Christian News, Prayers, and Discussion, Christian Cigar and Pipes Lounge it has all come from God’s leading, guidance, and quite literally step-by-step instruction.

I still don’t have any formal journalism or creative writing certifications.  I’m still not licensed or ordained as a pastor through any Bible Schools.  Christlike Ministries NWA is still not a legally licensed nor is it tax exempt or  licensed as a non-profit.  Everything I’ve done with this ministry I’ve done through trial and error and the personal instruction of God Himself.  The teaching series I write on, the side-journey messages, and the devotional messages they’re all God breathed, Holy Ghost inspired messages that have come by me doing what I talked about in the last message (discovering my gifts, talents, and abilities and surrendering them to God for His glory), and as I mentioned a moment ago every time I hit the “publish” button it’s another message written by the gift God gave me and it gives me another opportunity to be a living testimony that God can take a nobody like me and turn them into a somebody.

I did come predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son  Romans 8:29 (KJV) like the underwriting verse of this ministry says, but I had no idea that I was also pre-qualified to be used for God’s glory.  I didn’t understand that the devil has been trying to kill me all my life, but like Job God never allowed him to take my life.  He allowed me to be sifted…boy did God ever allow me to be sifted…but I can look back over the times that I thought I was surely a dead goose and God spared my life.  The devil used so many ways and people, but God never allowed my life to be taken because He had chosen me before I the foundations of the world to be here in this moment of time writing these messages about how God took my dry, dead bones and breathed life into me.

One of the greatest miracles (to me) is that God got me to stop looking at myself through the mirror of the world as I saw myself, and into the mirror of how He sees me through His Word 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) the other underwriting verse of this ministry.  That was the wonderful thing God did by introducing me to my wife because until I met her I wasn’t ever going to stop looking at myself through the lens that I had of myself because I saw myself the way the world saw me.  The world saw me the exact way that I described to God in my objections to Him as to why He was making a mistake by calling me to be an ambassador for Him…like He didn’t know He was calling one of the foolish things of the world to confound the wisdom of the wise.

You know, what though.  God has been just as firm with me as He was Moses.  I can kind of remember God saying the same thing to me about my ability to write that He said to Moses about the stuttering excuse.  I remember saying to God after I’d written quite a few messages through Facebook before launching this WordPress site that my writing didn’t look anything like anyone else’s.  It’s hard to read, there’s lots of spelling and grammatical errors and there wasn’t much of a layout or format to it and man were they hard reads.  Finally God said to me one time as I was basically complaining and telling God that He was wrong:  “Who gave you the ability to write in the first place?”  He said other things that I’ll kind of paraphrase by basically saying that He reminded me that anything that anyone gets good at requires repetition and practice.

In other words, God basically told me to just get started.  That’s why one of my personal mottos is now:  “Obey God and Trust Him with the results”.  If there’s one thing I’ve learned through doing this it’s that if God calls you to it…He’s already qualified you for it.  I’ve also learned that just like He did with Abraham…God doesn’t give us the next step to our journey until we take the first step.  Now that I’ve been doing this for almost 4 years now…I’m a much better writer today than I was when I started and there are a lot of times I’ll re-read messages I’ve written to come away stunned with the boldness, clarity, and power that some of what I’ve written is.

God is faithful to do everything that He says He can do and more, friends.  Every time you read a new blog post…He reminds me of His faithfulness.  I’ve written this entire message without any help from the writers of this devotional at all.  In fact, I’m about to close with the only thing the writers of this devotional that inspired this series I’m doing said.  Are you ready!?!  Here’s what they said about this…

Moses wasn’t a good speaker, but God still used him talk to Pharaoh. He ended up saving millions of people from slavery.  Keep reading this plan. In the next few days, you’ll see how this story ties into our purpose.

Let’s Pray:

Father God, thank You that You give us the strength, talents, gifts, and abilities to do all that You have called and destined for us to do.  Thank You that You qualify every one of us to do what You have called and destined for us to do.  Father, I pray for those who may be reading this message that You would encourage them to take their place.  Help those who are seeking You to understand the gifts, abilities, and talents You have given them.  Help them, Lord God, to lean upon You to help them develop, use, and maintain those gifts…and of course use them to bring You fame and glory in, with, and through their lives just as You have mine. Finally, Lord God, I thank You for all that You are doing in, with and through my life and through Christlike Ministries NWA.  May all that I do in, with, and through the ministry bring You fame, bring You glory, bring You honor, and may it always be done for Your glory.  May it always be known that Pastor Bryan Kizer and Christlike Ministries NWA lift up and glorify and exalt the name of Jesus.  Lord God, I plead the Blood of Jesus upon myself, my family, and upon EVERY PERSON that reads this post.  In Jesus’ name I pray that You would bring the breakthrough in their lives they need, and I ask that all those who need to know You would come to know You as their Lord and Savior.  In Jesus’ name I pray that those who find and read these messages would be changed and transformed in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen

In Closing:

Well, now that you know a little more about me and where I came from.  Where are you coming from?  What gifts and talents has God-given you to just take a step of faith and start using?  I pray that you’ll learn from the mistake Moses and I made by arguing with God about how we couldn’t possibly be qualified to do what He’s called us to do.  May you be reminded and encouraged to know that if God has called you to it…He has already qualified you for it.

Friends, thank you so much for being a part of the Christlike Ministries NWA Family.  I’m so thankful that God chose me to bring you the Word of God this way, and that He’s taken what I thought would be a hobby and taken it around the world.  It’s almost time to do the August Newsletter, and I’m excited to share with you the explosion that’s taking place at Christlike Ministries NWA.  God has most definitely been enlarging the territory that Christlike Ministries NWA is reaching both at home in the United States, and abroad.

If you have been blessed by this ministry won’t you consider giving to help keep Christlike Ministries NWA online.  I’ll be you didn’t know, but there are a lot of costs associated even with keeping an online ministry online.  So, if you’d like to give to help keep us online please write to me at pastorbryankizer@outlook.com, and I’ll let you know how to do that.

I hope you’ll join me again next week as we look at the third message in this six message series, and join my over on Pastor B’s Blog for message two of the “Finding Your Way Back To God” series.  I love y’all so very much.  I appreciate your support, patience, and prayers.  I am humbled by the growth of this ministry, but I can assure you that I’ll never forget that it takes each and every one of you to make up the Christlike Ministries NWA Family.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Blessings & Grace;
Bryan Kizer – Pastor
