Through Him, By Him, And For Him

Greetings Christlike Ministries NWA Family, it took me a while, but I finally found what God wanted me to write about in the Christlike Ministries NWA Devotional for Thursday April 30, 2015.  Our Scripture for the day is one of my favorites because it, like John 14:6, is straight forward and tells me exactly what it says and means exactly what it says.  So, let’s take a look at our verse, and then we’ll get into today’s devotional message.

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” –  John 1:3 (KJV)

Anyone that has followed me for any length of time knows my feelings on the theory of evolution.  For those who don’t…there is absolutely no way that you can convince me that over a period of time a kernel of corn can become a cow.  Those who think I’m whacky for believing in an invisible God that made everything to me are the ones that are whacky because if you look at how complex things are…and are trying to convince me that all that we see just happened to start making itself out of nothing one day is a lot more whacky to me then my belief in a God that no one can see…or can we?

That’s what I love about a verse like John 1:3 that says ALL things were made by God, and without God there isn’t ANYTHING made that was made.  There isn’t a tree in the world that God didn’t make…even the ones that were just planted today.  There isn’t a human being on the face of the planet that wasn’t created and made in the image of God.  There’s not a fish, not a deer, not a dog, or any other living creature that was made that wasn’t made by God.  God Himself breathed life into every living creature, and there’s no one that can convince me otherwise…because the Bible is my source.  I don’t care how many scientific experiments have been successfully done…if what the results of those experiments don’t line up with the Word of God…then they’re not proof of anything other than a well done science experiment.

God Himself said that creation is proof alone that He exists, and that He is the sole Creator of everything we see.  I’m not talking about man made things like houses, cars, buildings, etc.  I’m talking strictly about everything that life was breathed into…plants, animals, bugs, and humans.  The earth, sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, lakes, steams, oceans, and all that is in it…God made it.  God breathed life into it.

This is one of those topics that I always refer to the Bible.  The Bible says God made everything, I believe what the Bible says, and for me that settles all the arguments.  We should always take the Bible’s word above anyone else’s anyways, but when it comes to the evolution versus creation debate…there’s no debate to me.  All things were made through God, all things were made by God, and all things (including me) were created for God…and that’s about all there is to say about that!

Let’s Pray:

You Lord, are worthy to receive all honor and glory and praise for You are our eternal Creator and in Christ Jesus we have become a new creation.. for You not only created us in Him but You bought us with a price – the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, so that we may show forth Your glory in the ages to come, AMEN

In Closing:

One of the main foundations of the Bible (and therefore Christianity) is that God created everything through the incarnate Word of God.  We know that the Bible says that in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  We also know from the same chapter that the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us.  If you have followed me for a while you know that I view the Bible as Jesus in book form.  So, when God said the Word…the Holy Ghost did, and now today the Holy Ghost’s main job is to confirm the Word with signs and wonders following.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Blessings & Grace;

Pastor B
