Only He Knows

Neatly tucked into Jesus’ prophetic message about the end times, and the signs that His return draws near is this quick warning that many seem to have forgotten about today, but the Lord hasn’t forgotten.  That’s why we’re talking about it in the Christlike Ministries NWA Devotional for Wednesday, April 15, 2015, and as we take a look at the verse for today’s message let’s believe God (as always) for ears to hear…and hearts that will be receptive and respond to what He’s about to speak to us through this message.  Let’s also believe that God will make my fingers as that as a pen of a ready writer…writing only of the oracles of God and the supernatural unction that only comes by way of the Holy Ghost.

Here’s what the Lord wants to speak to us about today.

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”   Matthew 24:42 (KJV)

I know that it seems like every few years we have someone who thinks they have got the date of the rapture nailed down.  They’ve done all this adding and subtracting and worked and reworked the numbers and Bible codes and everything else.  We’ve even had people say God told them when Jesus was coming back.  My thought on this is if God had a specific person in mind that was going to reveal the actual day of the rapture…wouldn’t that person’s name be in the Bible?  I mean, God had people throughout the entire Old Testament prophetically speak about the first coming of Jesus, and if there was someone who was given the actual date of Jesus’ second coming…I’m pretty sure that they would have been named in the Bible…but what we find written time and time again in the Bible is that the only One that really knows when that trumpet is going to sound is God the Father.

Listen.  Even Jesus when He was walking the earth didn’t know when the day would be.  He said to watch, and live as though He could return at any moment.  Think about it. We talk about this all the time.  If you knew when a thief was going to break into your house…wouldn’t you already have the windows and doors locked?  Maybe have a bat in your hands waiting for them to come in?  The truth is the reason we lock our doors and windows and such is because we don’t know.  We have no idea when or if there will come a time when someone breaks into our house…so we take measures to prevent that from happening.

The same should be said for the rapture.  I have always believed that the trumpet sound of the rapture is only going to be audible to believers.  I believe that’s why there will be two walking in the field probably talking and carrying on a conversation when…poof…one is taken to Heaven while the other is left to wonder where the other went.  The Bible even says all of it will take place in the blink of an eye.  We don’t even know when we blink sometimes, do we?

We should be taking every measure and precaution to make sure that when the trumpet sounds we aren’t the ones left here wondering what that neat pile of clothes on the ground is all about.  We need to be sure that we’re the ones that left the pile of clothes, Amen!?!  So, when I hear these people talking about how they know when Jesus is coming back…it’s usually a cause for me to chuckle just a little bit…but it’s also a reminder that we need to be watching and ready because at a moment’s notice…in the blink of an eye millions of people are going to literally vanish…and I don’t know about anyone else…but I want to be sure I’m one of the one’s taken.  Amen!

Let’s Pray:

Lord Jesus, thank You for taking the time to warn us about the rapture and Your return.  Thank You for this reminder to be watching and to be sure that we are ready for that blink of an eye when we are gathered in the Heavens with You on our way to the glorious Home that You have gone to prepare for those of us who chose You, love You, and are whosoever’s that called You Lord.  We pray for our loved ones who have yet to make the decision to call upon You for salvation.  May you lead them to someone they will listen to that will get them to make a decision to call upon the name of Jesus for salvation.  We as this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

In Closing:

I never like to close a message like this without giving you a chance to meet Jesus, and make Him the Lord and Savior of your life.  That is the one thing we can all do to make sure that when that trumpet sounds we are the one leaving the clothes, and not the one wondering where everyone went.  If you have never called upon the name of the Lord to be saved…I would like to encourage you to check out this page on the Christlike Ministries NWA Website:  I Need To Meet Jesus. You’ll have a little more reading to do, a very important video to watch, and also a very important prayer to say out loud so that all the demons in hell and all of Heaven can hear you make the decision to return home.

Remember the story of the Prodigal Son?  God is waiting and watching with great anticipation, and the moment you ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior…just like that father in the story…God is going to come running to you, put a robe around you, seal you with a ring (the Holy Ghost), and there’s going to be a huge party in Heaven for every person that calls Jesus Lord.

Don’t wait another minute.  That next blink of your eye could be the last.  The Bible says today…right now…is the moment of salvation.  Make today count, and become a child of God today!

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Blessings & Grace to you!
