Even Greater Things:

Hello Everyone & Happy Valentine’s Day

I am sorry this is being written and posted so late. I had a wonderful birthday, and I always enjoy taking a look at all of the Scripture of the Day posts, and I thought that I would combine them to make this the Christlike Ministries NWA Daily Devotional for Friday February 13, 2015.

Today’s devotional is going to be and look different from any other, but I believe we’ll wind up with a pretty good message.

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2 (KJV)

One of the things that I’ve noticed over the last few years is how many of the things of the world I once had an affection for that I no longer do.  The world is losing it’s attraction to me, and that’s how it should be.  The more you cling to the Lord, the more you fall in love with Jesus…the less of an attraction the world should have and hold in our lives.

So, the first thing the Lord reminded me of is to stay focused upon Him, and the funny thing is I already have that desire in my heart.  I find that I’m okay with not being able to watch as much television and listen to as much sports talk as I used to.  I used to have ESPN radio on all day long, and now it’s Christian music or watching Daniel Tiger or Word World.  Sure, I still have my shows that I like to watch, but they don’t hold the same importance as they once did.

The closer you grow to the Lord, friends the less important the things of the world become.  The more you realize just how short life is the less important everything else becomes, and the more important fulfilling the Great Commission becomes.

It’s important to be mindful of what we’re focusing on.  I often talk about how the Lord spoke a few things to me when Lizzie was born.  One of those things was to enjoy life and adjust my priorities.

The most important things to me are my family, my ministry, and my relationship with God…everything else is secondary.

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” — Ephesians 5:21 (NIV)

Submit.  Nothing works unless I’m submitted to Christ.  My family, my ministry, and my own life.  Christ is at the center of it all, Christ is the foundation of it all, and Christ is the reason for it all.

So we have Focus…Keep Christ as the Center…and now let’s see look at the next one.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Don’t give up.  You’ll be glad to know that I view what I’m doing for the Lord as just the beginning.  There’s not even a thought of giving up or quitting.  I intend to continue to persevere until the Lord says to stop.  One of the words that is no longer in my vocabulary is quitting.  I’m not going to give up, I’m not going to quit, and I can promise you that three years is just the start.

Remember I talked about seed, time, and harvest.  I am in the midst of the season of time.  I don’t need to see a harvest to know that one is coming.  God has been clear to me that there are great things coming my way, and I believe in all of my that God has something in store for me that is going to come as I trust and obey Him.

So.  I have Focus on God, Submit , and Don’t Give Up.

“Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.” Psalm 119:73 (NIV)

Stay Humble.  I readily admit that I don’t know everything there is to know, I don’t have all the answers, I still need to hear the Word, I still need to read and study the Word, and I still have a lot to learn.  If you’re looking for someone who has it all figured out I’m sorry to have to disappoint you, but I don’t have all the answers.  However, I do serve the One that does, and I also teach from the only Book that has the answers also.

Focus On God. Submit. Don’t Give Up. Stay Humble.

john-3-16-crucifixion“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

Love.  This is what defines a true disciple.  I want to be conformed more and more to His image.  I want to display, feel, and understand His love more. I want to love what He loves, and I want to love how He loves.

Focus on God. Submit to God. Don’t Give Up. Stay Humble. Love.

BloodAndTestimony“I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us— yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.” – Isaiah 63:7 (NIV)

Testify.  I testify of the goodness, kindness, mercy, grace, and love of God one message at a time.  Telling of what God has done in, with, and through my life is part of what Christlike Ministries NWA is all about.

So these are the points of the verses I saw for Friday February 13, 2015.  I have my work cut out for me, and I know that as I am trusting of God and obedient to Him that He has even greater things in store for me than ever before.

He has even greater things in store for you too!

Let’s Pray:

Lord God, thank You for blessing me with another year of life.  Thank You for Your Word.  Thank You for blessing me with a loving wife, a beautiful daughter, and my extended Christlike Ministries NWA Family.  I pray that we all would be partakers of even greater things, greater blessings, and greater encounters with You than ever before.  Jesus may You receive the honor that Your due.  I love You, my King, my Lord, my Savior, and my God.  To You be the glory, honor, and praise for all that You have done, all that You are doing, and all that You have yet to do in…with…and through my life.  In Jesus name. Amen.

In Closing:

I hope everyone is had a nice weekend.  I know that this is coming late.  I just wasn’t really able to sit down and write until now.  I’m hoping to be able to get back on track this coming week.  Thanks for your patience, and thank you to everyone that took the time to acknowledge my birthday.

Blessings & Grace;

Pastor B
