I will Be Glad and Rejoice

Scripture Of The Day:  Psalm 31:7 (NIV)

I will be glad and rejoice in your love,

for you saw my affliction

and knew the anguish of my soul

I Will Be Glad And Rejoice

Good Morning Christlike Ministries NWA Family,

The new devotional idea is one that I’ve been thinking about for a while, and now that I’m writing it I can see why God had this on my heart.

This is the introductory verse on YouVersion’s Website, and I thought it was fitting to use it for the Christlike Ministries NWA Daily Devotional for Tuesday January 20, 2015.

I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. – Psalm 31:7 (NIV)

Some times we just have to declare to ourselves that we are going to be glad and rejoice, don’t we?  I’ve written many times over the last three years about how some times we are going to have to encourage ourselves because not only isn’t there anyone else to do it, but some times the people around us can be just as discouraging, can’t they!?!

I don’t know about you, but I find great comfort in knowing that Jesus came in the flesh and was touched with every emotion and infirmity that I have felt.  I find great comfort in knowing that Jesus really does understand and knows how I feel.  I find great comfort in knowing that God sees my afflictions and knows of the anguish in my soul.  I also find great comfort knowing that He wants me to cast all of my cares upon Him simply because He cares for me, and doesn’t want me carrying the weight of those things around. Can I tell you that He wants to do the same for you too!?!

Friends, this may surprise you, but once in a while I have to give myself a Holy Ghost pep talk in the mirror too.  Some times I have to get in the mirror, and look myself in the eye and declare just like David does hear that “I am going to rejoice and be glad.  I am the head and not the tail. Greater is He that is in me then He that is in the world, and if God is for you none can be against you.”

Not everyone around us is going to be as excited as we are that God’s in our lives, and that we’ve chosen to serve Him. I can tell you that it’s easy to get discouraged because people don’t take me or my ministry seriously.  But, it’s not about what everyone else thinks it’s about what the Lord has anointed and called me to do.  Christlike Ministries NWA is about being obedient to the call of Christ, and being Bryan Kizer Pastor and Founder of Christlike Ministries NWA isn’t a hobby it’s really what God has called me to do and be.

Some times, friends we are just going to have to encourage ourselves, and so let me encourage you not to be ashamed of giving yourself a Holy Ghost pep talk…as Jude says it’s up to us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith.

Let’s Pray:

Lord God, thank You that You have been touched with the same feelings and infirmities that we have been afflicted with.  We’re so thankful that we have a God that can understand how we feel, and thank You that You give us such comfort and help in our time of need.  We bless You, Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen & Amen.

In Closing:

Have you been blessed by this ministry? Would you like to help me out?

Here are some really practical ways you can help me out.

1) Engage – I don’t always have time to reply to everyone but I read every single comment and post on here. I reply to every message and email and every one blesses me! Please do get involved and let me get to know you in the little ways we can online.

2) Share – If you love the posts here, or maybe an article on the website… please share it on Facebook or Twitter… it really helps new people find this ministry and be blessed by the good news of the gospel…and tell people about us.

3) Pray – We really value your prayers. Pray for this message to find good soil – that God would continue to bring new faces to this ministry that are ready to accept His embrace.

4) Give – Running a ministry is a lot like running a business. There’s always a cost, and if this ministry blesses you in any way…you can now help by giving to it financially. I’ve set up a ministry card that is used specifically for ministry needs & expenses. If you’d like to give to this ministry contact me directly at for more information.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. All of you who follow me are of great encouragement to me…and I’m grateful for all of you.
