Scripture Of The Day: Hebrews 10:39 (NASB)
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. – Hebrews 10:39 (NASB)
Good Morning Christlike Ministries NWA Family,
Welcome to the new Christlike Ministries NWA Daily Devotional. As you know the Lord has been leading me to do things a little differently, and one of those things is that I needed to expand the outreach of my daily devotional posts to include my WordPress Audience.
This is the first and only introduction I’ll be adding to these posts I just wanted to do it with this one because it’s the first one. So, from now on I’ll be posting the Christlike Ministries NWA Devotional on all our sites simply by hitting the publish button.
So, let’s get to today’s message:
Believers Are Not Shrinkers
I love this description of God’s people that precedes “the faith Hall of Fame” (Hebrews 11). When you look at the Body of Christ throughout the centuries they were not a bunch of wimps, cry babies, or walking around like dogs with their tails between their legs, but there’s a much different picture of the church today…isn’t there?
Those in the “Faith Hall of Fame” of Hebrews 11 didn’t back down or shrink from anyone or anything, but today much of the church has been silent while the world has been thumbing their nose at God. It’s taken a back seat position to a world that is openly defiant to God, and the Body of Christ has forgotten very simply “greater is He that is in us then he that is in the world.”
We never have to worry about whether or not God has our back, but when will we as the Body of Christ rise up to take His. Not that He needs us to defend Him or His Word or His Honor…but with so many shrinking in the face of persecution and adversity it begs the question that Jesus spoke of when He said “No man can serve two masters.”, and Joshua declared unto us to “choose this day whom you will serve”.
I’ll close today’s message with this quote from Phil Ware on Verse of the Day:
This verse excites me because the Holy Spirit does not say “we can be those who don’t shrink back,” instead he is confident in us, our endurance and our faithfulness. We’re not “shrinkers,” we’re believers!
There’s never been a more important time for the Body of Christ to stop shrinking, and take a stand for the things of God.
Father God, thank You for Your Word that always hits us right on time, and reminds us that we are the head and not the tail. Lord, remind us of the words Paul wrote to remind us that we have the greater power on the inside of us then the power that is in the world. Help us, Lord, to have the confidence in our selves that You have in us. With Your help, we won’t be a “shrinkers.” Instead, we will stand for Your truth, Your character, and Your will even when those around us do not. Father, I ask that You help us to believe that You have great things ahead for Your people, so we declare that we refuse to shrink back. Please empower us with Your Spirit so that we can more completely serve You with boldness, confidence and integrity. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
We’re not shrinkers we are believers. Let’s remember that we have the greatest power the world has ever known in us, and that we have the authority because all things are under the feet of Jesus. There’s no reason for us to cower in fear or worry about what others will think…because in the end we’re not going to be held accountable to the world…we will be held accountable to the One that called us to stand out from it.
Have a blessed day, and if you aren’t already I’d like to ask you to consider giving to help Christlike Ministries NWA financially. We are being asked to do more this year than ever before, and that means we need your help to accomplish all that God has set forth for us to do. If you can help please contact me through our email address at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you enjoyed today’s devotional, and I hope you’ll come back tomorrow to see what God has in store for us through the Christlike Ministries NWA Daily Devotional.
Blessings & Grace;
