Ten Ways To Love: Pray Without Ceasing

Message Scripture:  Colossians 1:9, NKJV

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

So far, we’ve only gotten through 3 of the 10 ways to love, and if you’re thinking this series is taking a long time to complete…you would be correct.  I have kind of been focusing my efforts a little more on building the Christlike Ministries NWA Facebook presence, and also added a new group of people that is reachable only through a mobile app.  So, I’ve been working on another part of the ministry, and in a way I think it was a good time to take a break from writing for my blog to do that.

No part of my ministry is more important than the other, but I have noticed that there’s been a lot of increased traffic notifications from here, and that means the other 350 plus messages have been read.  So, maybe the break has given people a chance to catch up, and really read the messages I’ve already written.

So, we pick up this series with message number four, and we’re going to be talking about what praying without ceasing has to do with love, and I’m pretty sure this is going to be an excellent message. As always, let’s believe the Holy Ghost will take my fingers and use them as a pen of a ready writer…writing only of the oracles of God, and that there would be ears to hear and hearts that would be receptive and responsive to what the Lord is about to say to us through this message…Amen!?!

Today’s Message: Pray Without Ceasing:

I am pretty sure that I don’t have to explain that if you really, truly love someone that praying for them without ceasing ought to not be a surprise when it comes to ways in which we can love others.  I mean, it shouldn’t come as too big of a shock that praying for people without ceasing is a good way to prove you love them.  In fact, I can’t think of a single person that I pray for that I don’t love.

I have also heard it said that if you have a really difficult time loving a certain someone then if you take the time to pray for them with the same intensity and passion in which you pray for yourself…it won’t be long before you are praying for them out of love as well.

Let’s face it, praying is talking to God, and if you’re going to talk to anyone about them behind their backs the ONLY person that you should be talking to behind their backs is the One that created them…Amen!?!

All of you who like to engage in gossip…you ought to know that God isn’t please with that at all.  The Bible is full of warnings to people who enjoy passing around rumors and gossip.  There’s a name for you.   The Bible calls you a slanderer or back biter or tale bearer. I don’t know about anyone else…but I don’t want to be known by any of those names…at all.  Especially not to God.

Let’s take a moment to look at the Amplified Version of our message scripture because I believe there are some things that we’re going to be able to pull out of our verse that way that will really drive this message into our hearts.  I don’t’ believe this will be an extremely long message, but that’s always up to the Holy Ghost.  I know we have to get through this series cause there’s other things we need to get into…but for now let’s view the Amplified Version of our verse for this message.

For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things–

Can you think of anything more loving than to ask God to fill someone with a full, deep, and clear knowledge of God’s will for their lives?  Proverbs talks extensively about getting knowledge, wisdom, and understanding more than anything else…but of what?  What knowledge?  What wisdom?  What understanding is more valuable that precious jewels or gold or silver?

I guess it’s not really necessary to draw this message out any further cause when you love people you pray for them, and some times when you even tend to pray for people you don’t like. In fact, I’ve found that if I pray for someone I have a particularly difficult time loving…I find that the more I pray for them the softer my heart winds up towards them.

So…we’ve gone through four ways so far.

  1. Listen without interupting.
  2. Speak without accusing.
  3. Give without sparing.
  4. Pray without ceasing.

Let’s Pray:

Lord, with the title of this message being to pray for those we love without ceasing we would just like to take a moment to ask You to be with all of our friends, family, and loved ones. Heal the broken hearted, comfort the afflicted, allow Your presence to saturate those who feel alone, and most importantly draw the ones that don’t know You to someone they will listen to that they will allow to speak to them about You.  Help us. Lord to remember that praying without ceasing isn’t just for us, but for those we love also. We ask this and all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen & Amen.

In Closing:

I know, I know. It’s taken a really long time to get this message written and posted, and we’re not even halfway through with this series.  As I mentioned in the introduction, the Lord had me focus on working on the Facebook side of things for a while, and so the anointing to finish this message wasn’t really available.

I believe that season for focusing on the Facebook side  of the ministry where I write and post daily scriptures and a devotional to go along with it.  If you haven’t become a friend of mine on Facebook I’d like to encourage you to do so. (www.Facebook.com/ChristMinistARK) I write and post things there that I don’t post here, and so I’d like to encourage you to connect with me on all of our sites.

If you don’t know where to find us…just visit the Social Networks Tab, and that will let you know everywhere we are.

Have you been blessed by this ministry? Would you like to help me out?

Here are some really practical ways you can help me out.

1) Engage – I don’t always have time to reply to everyone but I read every single comment and post on here. I reply to every message and email and every one blesses me! Please do get involved and let me get to know you in the little ways we can online.

2) Share – If you love the posts here, or maybe an article on the website… please share it on Facebook or Twitter… it really helps new people find this ministry and be blessed by the good news of the gospel…and tell people about us.

3) Pray – We really value your prayers. Pray for this message to find good soil – that God would continue to bring new faces to this ministry that are ready to accept His embrace.

4) Give – Running a ministry is a lot like running a business. There’s always a cost, and if this ministry blesses you in any way…you can now help by giving to it financially. I’ve set up a ministry card that is used specifically for ministry needs & expenses. If you’d like to give to this ministry contact me directly at bryanjkizer@yahoo.com for more information.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. All of you who follow me are of great encouragement to me…and I’m grateful for all of you.
