There Is Power In The Name of Jesus

Scripture Reference:  Philippians 2:9-10

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

I’ve been thinking a lot these days about a subject that’s known, but not really talked about…and that’s the power of the name of Jesus.  We talk about the blood of Jesus…not nearly enough…but even less than the blood is the name of Jesus that’s more powerful than any name there is.  I mean think about it. As you’re thinking about it, I’m going to end this introduction and see what kind of message this is going to become.

I pray for boldness and clarity with power.  I ask the Holy Ghost to use me to speak through me what He would have me to say.  I ask for that anointing that comes only through the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost.  I ask for ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts that are receptive and responsive to what we’re about to say this day.

Today’s Message: “There Is Power In The Name of Jesus”

Think about some of the most powerful people today, and their names.  I always think about people like Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan who were two of the greatest presidents of my life time.  I think about past presidents like John F. Kennedy and the infamous line of “ask not what your country can do for you…but what you can do for your country.”  I think about Franklin Roosevelt who famously said “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”

I think of some of the past heavyweights of Christianity.  Names like Oswald Chambers, Smith Wigglesworth, J.C. Ryles, and Kenneth Hagin Sr.  I think of some of the great sports stars like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.

However, of all the notable names be it throughout history, sports, or where ever…there is one name that is above all names.  There is a name that is greater than any illness, sickness, disease or ailment.  There is a name greater than depression, oppression, alcoholism, drug and porn addictions, gambling addictions, suicidal thoughts, and more.  There is a name that’s greater than poverty, greater than death, greater than life, and greater than the name of the greatest leaders history has ever know.

There is a name that’s greater than TD Jakes.  There is a name greater than the Pope.  There is a name greater than President Barack Obama.  There is a name greater than the Dahlia Lama.  There is a name greater than Muhammad.  There is a name greater than Buddha. There is a name greater than satan.  There is a name greater than every name that was ever named or ever will be named.

That name is the name of Jesus.  At that name every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  At that name demons flee, devils tremble, and darkness dissipates.  At that name storms die.  At that name mountains crumble and rocks cry out in praise.  At that name the greatest of leaders have bowed. At that name the strongest of men have fallen to their knees weeping like babies.

At that name chains are broken.  At that name…the name of Jesus things happen that blow the natural mind.  At that name…the name of Jesus it turns a mess into a message.  At that name…the name of Jesus all who rise up against those who preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified will one day find themselves answering the very same question that Saul of Tarsus had to answer on his way to Damascus.

I don’t know what you’re facing.  I don’t know your situations or circumstances.  I don’t know what stage of cancer you have.  I don’t know how long you’ve been trying to break free from the bondage of an addiction to cocaine.  I don’t know how long you have been trying to quit smoking cigarettes.  I don’t know how dead you think your marriage is.  I don’t know how long you have been living off the grid because you can’t afford your bills. I don’t know where you are, I don’t know what you’ve done, I don’t know what you’re going through…but I do know that where ever you are…whatever you’re facing…that the name of Jesus can change things in an instant.

So…when you are watching Oprah Winfrey talk about all the wonderful things she’s done to help people out for publicity sake.  When you hear about how much money Donald Trump makes.  When you hear about how powerful Barack Obama thinks he is.  When you hear that doctor say that you only have a few short months to live.  When you think that you can’t go on, that you can’t stop cutting yourself, when you think that the situations and circumstances you find yourself in are as bleak and bad as they can be…and you just don’t know how much longer you can go on…

Introduce those things to the name of Jesus.  Cast those things upon Him.  I can’t promise that everything will turn out to be rosy and wonderful…but what I do know is that when the name of Jesus is spoken in faith believing that God will do whatever it is you ask according to that name…the matter is no longer in your hands…but His.

So…rest in that name…trust in that name…and know that in that name…there is nothing more powerful.

In Closing:

Father…I don’t know who will read this message.  I don’t know what they are facing or going through.  I don’t know where they live. I don’t know their struggles or what they’re suffering with.  I don’t know who they are.  I don’t know anything about them…but You do…and You know where the name of Jesus needs to be applied in their lives.  You know where the power of the name of Jesus needs to be used to destroy the works of the devil.  You know them…You called them out before the world began.  You formed them in the womb.  You have their lives…all of their lives in the palm of Your hand.  So, I ask You, Father God, knowing that You hear me…I ask that You would intervene in their lives where ever, how ever, and for what ever they need.  I pray, Father God, right now in the name of Jesus that You would touch the lives of those who are reading this message this day…I ask in Jesus name that whatever they need, whatever they face…however they need You…I stand in agreement and in the gap for them asking that in Jesus name You would intervene…and that from this day…from this moment they would never be the same.  In Jesus name I pray and ask these things…Amen and Amen.

Blessings and Grace to you.
