The American Bible Challenge – Week 2 – A Call To Action

Today’s Scripture:  Exodus 2:1-10

First of all, let me apologize for the delay between messages.  Once again, the schedule of my job kind of caught up to me as I’ve been working 6 days a week for the last couple of weeks, but it appears that we’re not going to be short handed so my time of working 6 days in a row should be finished after this next week.  I guess I understand why the old Dunkin’ Donuts used to sadly and exhaustedly say:  “Time to make the donuts.”.

Second…it’s good to get back to writing.  Some times, it’s good to take a few steps back because in getting worn down, it’s harder to hear from the Lord, and it’s also easier to write messages out of obligation…rather than writing because the Lord’s burning something in your heart.  It’s good some times to just listen to your body…and realize that some times…it just needs to rest.

Third…as we get back into The American Bible Challenge series I’m finding that while these series have been short…they’ve provided us with some pretty good teaching.  It’s encouraging to see some of you are being ministered to by these messages…and I hope that continues.

Finally…let’s pray…and get into today’s message…Amen!?!

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the opportunity to write and reach Your people today thru another written message, and as always I ask that You’d make me as a pen of a ready writer…writing only that which You would say.  I ask that You’d anoint me with the ability to write as You supply thru the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost.  I ask that You’d allow my mind to be clear so that I can hear Your voice, and that You would speak thru me this day.  I thank You for the ability to write, and ask that it be used to bring You glory.

I pray, Lord, for those who will read today’s message.  I ask that You would speak to their hearts, and that You’d give them ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts to receive that which You would have to say.

I ask all of these things in the name of Jesus…Amen & Amen.

Today’s Message:  “A Call To Action”

I’ve yet to title today’s message because I’m not sure where this message is going to go.  So…I figure I’ll just start writing, and if the Holy Ghost gives me a title we’ll use it…if not…then we’ll leave it without a title.  The most important thing is that we receive that which the Lord would have to say, anyways…Amen.

With the Israelite population getting out of control, the Egyptians decided to exercise post birth population control – drown the baby boys in the Nile but allow the little girls to live.

Horrible, right? God didn’t like it either. Especially when one certain little boy was Moses.

It’s funny that most historians label Adolf Hitler as the first to want to extinguish the Israelites, but the truth is that the devil has been wanting to destroy the Israelites long before the holocaust.  Let me say before I move on that I’m not diminishing what Hitler did.  What he did was evil, and tragic in it’s own right…the only thing I’m getting at is he’s not the first person that the devil wanted to use to wipe out God’s chosen people.  There’s a point to be made here…and the point is that the devil has been trying to kill God’s people since the beginning of time.

The other point is that while there is a literal group of God’s people (the Jew’s) I just heard the Lord say that there’s also a spiritual group of God’s people…which is…the Body of Christ.

How many of you know there is a lot of work being done to try and remove and diminish the Body of Christ today?  There’s a lot being done today to try and remove as much of the fact that this nation was founded upon the Bible than ever before, and there’s also work being done to remove more and more of the freedoms that we used to know as Christians.  Everyone else is free to believe and practice what they want…but the mouths of Christians are being silenced.

There’s a much deeper meaning to allowing same sex marriages than allowing them to have the same benefits as married couples who do things the way God intended them.  What’s happening is there’s a serious attack to the family unit…and that’s one of the first areas satan always tries to attack.  The more he can do to destroy the family…the easier it is to destroy a nation.

Look around friends…the United States as a nation is coming under attack more today than ever before…and it’s being attacked from the inside.  That’s something that Hitler understood.  If you can control the family…you can control the nation.  The same thing was understood in Moses’ day…if you can destroy the family…you can rule the nation.  The one thing that neither Pharaoh nor Hitler or Stalin or any of the other rulers that tried to wipe out God’s people didn’t understand is that there’s One on a throne that’s far greater and more powerful than they are…and while they may experience victory against people…they will never defeat the One who allowed them to become leaders in the first place…Amen!?!

So when Moses’ mom could not hide him any longer, she put him in a papyrus basket and sent him down the Nile. The word for this basket in Hebrew is tebah and it’s the same word used for ark as in Noah’s ark.

These two arks are very different. Moses’ ark was maybe a yard long. Noah’s ark was 150 times longer. Moses’ ark was made of reeds from the Nile. Noah’s ark was made from cypress wood. One thing they both had in common – they were both covered in pitch or tar to keep them from sinking.

Both arks represent the same things – God’s means of saving humanity. Noah’s ark saved a righteous family from God’s judgment on mankind. Moses’ ark saved the man who would lead a nation to safety after God’s judgment on Egypt.

How many of you know we have a “ark” today?  If the two arks represented the same thing in that they were God’s way of saving humanity…then we have to recognize that today…His Son…Jesus Christ the One whom came, lived, died, and rose again is our Ark today.  How many of you know that in order for God’s people to be safe…they had to be IN the Ark?  Do you know how we are saved today?  We must be new creations…IN CHRIST JESUS.  Christ is our Ark…He’s our means of safety today.

In order to be safe from the things going on today that are being done to destroy God’s people…we must be in the Ark!  We must be IN Christ, and we also must do something that churches rarely speak about today…we must all come together in UNITY…IN Christ.

Listen…the time for being Baptist or Methodist or Church of God is over, and it’s time that we as the Body of Christ recognize that the only way we can defeat the enemy is to put aside our doctrinal, denominational, and other differences…and become ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

Listen…God’s looking for a people that He can rule and reign through…and that people is His Body.  How many of you know whether we’re Christian Catholics, Born Again, Word of Faith, or what ever denomination we claim to be…we’re all ONE body, serving ONE God, and need to come to the place where we realize that as separate bodies we don’t have the power that we have when we come together?

It’s time for the entire body of Christ to be getting serious about being serious with God.  It’s time that we stop playing church…and start BEING the church!  It’s time that we stop looking around for our government and church leaders to do what we…the Body of Christ is to do.

WE are the salt and light of the world. WE are the preservative of this nation. WE are the reason the rapture hasn’t happened yet. WE need to take a stand and our rightful place in the earth.  WE…the Body of Christ…need to do a little 2 Chronicles 7:14.

What is 2 Chronicles 7:14?  I’m glad you asked…this is what a little 2 Chronicles 7:14 is…

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

That’s what doing a little 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) is…and that’s what we as the Body of Christ need to be doing…Amen!?!

Both arks are about salvation, saving those God loves. They were life preservers for everyone on board, leading the world to the ultimate ark, the cross.

Amen!  Jesus Christ is our Ark today friends.  Are you IN the Ark…or are you like those who thought the Ark was a silly idea?  You do know what happened to those who thought the Ark was a silly idea…don’t you…they were destroyed by God Himself…and the same thing is going to happen again.  If you’re not IN the Ark (His Son) then when you stand before Him…and you will stand before Him…He will send you away to an everlasting fire for all of eternity…and just like those people in Noah’s day who thought the Ark was silly…you will drown…and there will never be a chance for you again.

Friend…there’s a totality of what’s going to happen to everyone who rejects the Ark.  Even those who rejected the Ark of Noah’s day are still going to stand before God…and face judgment.  But the judgment isn’t about what they did or didn’t do.  They’re not going to be judged because of their sin…they’re going to be judged and found guilty solely because they chose to disobey God…and refused to get in the Ark.

You’re going to be judged and found guilty based upon whether you refused to get IN the Ark or not.  If you’re IN the Ark…then you’re saved, but if you refuse to get IN the Ark…you’re going to spend eternity in hell.  I cannot stress enough that you’re not going to be judged by your sin because God judged that all at one time when Jesus was on the Cross.  No…friend…you’re going to be face on charge…and what happens with this one charge will depend upon where you spend eternity…the charge…were you IN the Ark or weren’t you.

In other words…did you receive Christ as Lord and Savior…or didn’t you.  It’s that charge…and that charge alone that will determine your eternal future…so again I ask you this question…

Are you IN the Ark?

The cross is for those sinking in a sea of sin. Hold on, it’ll get you through to the other side, where life everlasting awaits you. God always sends an ark to save us from drowning.

Do you know Jesus as your Ark?  If not…you can, but you must do it today…right now.  Don’t wait.  Any day could be the day the rain falls, and once it starts raining…it’s too late.  The door of opportunity is open now…and the only way to get IN to the Ark is by believing in your heart that Jesus did what He did on the Cross for you, and then confessing with your mouth this belief…and becoming a “whosoever” that’s called upon the name of the Lord.

Would you like to be sure you’re IN the Ark?  Then say this simple, but important prayer with me:

Dear Lord Jesus…come into my heart.  Forgive me of my sin.  Wash me, cleanse me, and set me free.  Jesus, thank You that You died for me.  I believe that You are risen from the dead and that You’re coming back for me.  Place me IN Your Ark right now, today.  Fill me with the Holy Ghost.  Give me a passion for the lost, a hunger for the things of God, and a holy boldness to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I boldly confess that I am a whosoever that has called upon the name of the Lord…that I am IN the Ark…and that I am saved…I am born again…I am forgiven…I am the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus…and I am In the Ark and on my way to Heaven because I have Jesus in my heart.  In Jesus name I pray…Amen!

As a minister of the Gospel…I want you to know that if you said that simple prayer…you are saved, born again, and you’re now IN the Ark…and now you have the safety and assurance that when you stand before God on the charge of rejecting His Son as your Lord and Savior…you’ll be found not guilty…and will spend eternity in Heaven.

If you chose to reject this opportunity…please know that just like those who drown in the flood…you may not get another chance…and that when you stand before God on the charge of rejecting God’s Son as Lord and Savior…you’ll be found guilty…and you will spend eternity in Hell.

I hope you chose to get IN the Ark…
