The Pastor's Heart

2012 – Getting Serious About Being Serious With God

I would like to write this to you so that you are aware of the things that are happening in my life, and how that impacts this page & ministry. Currently, we are now on Twitter, LinkedIn, WordPress, and Google+. As I learn of more Social Networking sites & how to use them…we will be adding ourselves to them also…and working to bring the light of God’s Word into their sites. I believe that God’s clear direction is that we are to have an impact on the Social Networking sites, and that’s what I am endeavoring to do. For those of you who don’t know by now, my name is Bryan John Kizer, and I am the pastor & founder of this ministry. I do know that I have a calling & mandate upon my life, and I’ve never been more sure that the time is upon us where we really do need to be Getting Serious About Being Serious With God. As I have said before that is the theme of 2012 for both myself, and the ministry.

So…I finally believe that I heard the Lord speak to me about how 2012 is going to be broken into 3 parts. For those of you who attend New Life Christian Center you’ll recognize these as the mission statement of our church, but it’s exactly within this mission statement that the Lord began to speak to me about what is in store for me for 2012.

The three parts: (1) Seeking God…to begin with there is a need for a hunger & thirst for God within me that’s growing, and is only going to be satisfied as I continue to seek His face with my whole being. (2) Loving People…I believe God is going to give me a softer heart of flesh, and full of compassion. I’m called to be a pastor, and the second part of this year is going to be the development & softening of my shepherd’s heart. (3) Making Disciples…in the last of this year I’ll begin to add to the flock of sheep the Lord’s entrusted me to shepherd. This begins, of course, with all of you who are my Facebook loved ones, friends, and family members. I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do in me, with me, and through me in 2012…and I pray that as you see the changes, growth, and power of God released & flowing through my life that you won’t give me the glory…but give it all to God.

I love all of you. I honestly do. The whole goal & desire of my heart is to see each and everyone of you come to know God, establish good study habits, and develop a personal, intimate, and powerful relationship with God…and that’s only possible through calling upon the name of Jesus. I hope that you’ll continue to follow along with the study’s, I hope that you’ll be blessed, and I also hope that we will encourage you to get out your Bibles and study them on your own. I hope that you’ll let us know if there’s anything we can pray with you for, and also let us know if your being blessed by anything we’re posting…comments & feedback are encouraging to us…and we hope you’ll tell your friends about us also…especially the ones who need Jesus.

Well, I knew there was a reason that I wasn’t being allowed to go to sleep, and now that I’m just about done with what I’m writing I’m starting to get sleepy. I just wanted to share my heart with you, and be transparent. I think sometimes the greatest thing that people in ministry lose is their ability to be people. I am human. I’m not perfect, and I intend to share my triumphs as well as my struggles with you so that you see that I’m no different then you. Just because I’m called to serve God doesn’t automatically make me a perfect, holy, and sinless person…it just simply means that I’ve come to know God, realize that He’s made significant changes in my life, have come to understand that I’m called to minister to those who God places in my care, but none of that makes me any different than you.

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.” (1 Corinthians 16:23-24)

Blessing & Grace to you
Bryan J. Kizer
