Goodness of God – Day 7 – (Proverbs 30:5)

Proverbs 30:5 KJV

In the final message on our study on the Goodness of God we read about every word of God, and once again that He protects those who put their trust in Him.

You can count on every word that God said being absolute truth. I would like to share how some of the other translations write this verse because it’s just one of those times when you let the Word of God speak…and be the message instead of trying to write a message about the Word of God.

So…I’m only going to write the first half of the verse because “he is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him” is consistent in all the translations.

American Standard : “Every word of God is tried.”

The Amplified: “Every word of God is tried and purified.”

Common English: “All God’s words are tried and true.”

English Standard: “Every word of God proves true.”

Holman Christian: :”Every word of God is pure.”

New International: “Every word of God is flawless.”

The point of all these verse is simple. God’s word is noble, true, just, flawless, perfect, pure, tried and true, and proves true. God’s word is absolutely 100% truth, and right. There’s nothing a miss, there’s no deceit, there’s no falsehood, there’s no misinterpretation, and there’s no taking His word out of context.

You know…maybe if we really read God’s Word this way there wouldn’t be so many denominations, so many religious points of view, and so many translations of the Bible. If we really looked as God’s word the way it’s described here we wouldn’t doubt that He loves us, we wouldn’t doubt that He’s forgiven us, and we wouldn’t question so much about what His Word says…because it’s all pure, it’s all true, and it’s absolutely perfect.

You know. I’ve heard it said over and over again that there are “no absolutes” in the world. But that’s wrong. You can see clearly from this verse that God’s word is absolute. There’s nothing imperfect about His word at all…every single word God speaks is absolute perfection…flawless…with out error.

So…the next time your reading the Bible. Think about the fact that EVERY word your reading is flawless…because whether your reading the story about creation or reading about the judgement….every word that’s written in scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit…that means the Bible as we read it every day…is absolutely flawless.

Maybe if you start reading God’s Word that way…it will settle all those vain arguments…and settle it in your mind and heart that God’s Word is absolutely THE truth.

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.” (1 Corinthians 16:23-24)
